As a private patient you don't just get an operation — you get a complete treatment plan from A to Z. Surgery is only one part of it. I accompany you from the very first conversation to full recovery.

My personal promise
I tell you clearly what I recommend – and why. Even if that means surgery is not the right step. No persuasion, no hidden recommendations.
Over 1,000 operations, specialised in minimal-invasive joint surgery. I operate exclusively in leading Vienna private hospitals – with state-of-the-art technology and an experienced team.
Surgery is only a small part. I plan the whole journey with you: from diagnosis through preparation to full rehabilitation – tailored to your body and your goals.
Minimal-invasive techniques, careful planning, no unnecessary procedure. The success of the operation – and therefore your health – is my highest goal.
How we work together
In my private practice I take the time that is often missing in the public system. I listen, ask questions, and understand your situation – before I recommend anything. By prior appointment only.
We analyse your findings together – X-ray, MRI, lab values. I explain in clear words what I see, what the options are and which path I recommend for you. You decide.
If surgery is the right step, we plan it together: choice of hospital, timing, anaesthesia, pre-operative work-up. I coordinate everything – you don't have to worry about a thing.
I operate on you personally – at one of the four leading Vienna private hospitals. Minimal-invasive, precise, with the most modern equipment. Klinikum Währing (Atomos), Wiener Privatklinik, Privatklinik Döbling or Rudolfinerhaus.
The procedure is the beginning, not the end. I accompany your recovery personally – with clear recommendations, check-ups and availability for any questions. Until you are fully fit again.
Cost coverage
With a supplementary (Sonderklasse) insurance policy, the costs of surgery and hospital stay at Vienna's private hospitals are generally covered in full — and I take care of the paperwork.
After your first consultation you receive a complete cost estimate from me — ready to forward to your insurer.
Your insurer reviews and approves the cost coverage — this usually takes only a few days. I support you and coordinate directly with the hospital if questions arise.
I bill your insurer directly — you pay nothing upfront and don't have to deal with anything. Surgery dates are usually available within 1–2 weeks.
Direct billing with your supplementary insurance — no upfront payment
Generally no out-of-pocket costs for surgery and hospital stay
Surgery date usually within 1–2 weeks — instead of months of waiting
Private (Wahlarzt) practice: approx. 80% reimbursement of the statutory tariff from your public health insurer
With outpatient supplementary cover: I help you submit the claim to your insurer
Transparent fees — no surprises
I work with all Austrian supplementary health insurers, including:
From the practice
All cases anonymised. Shown with consent.
An acute meniscus tear threatened to cost the patient the entire ski season. After rapid diagnostics the indication was clear: knee arthroscopy with meniscus repair – no removal of the meniscus, no compromise at the joint's expense. This was followed by an intensive, structured rehabilitation with targeted physiotherapy, which I supervised personally.
Result: a few months after surgery — pain-free on the slopes. Goal achieved.
Numb fingers, tingling, pain — the classic signs of carpal tunnel syndrome on the right. After rapid, thorough diagnostics came the procedure: outpatient, minimal-invasive, under local anaesthesia. No hospital stay, no general anaesthesia, no unnecessary effort.
Result: no more pain right after surgery. Two weeks of rest — then full hand function.
Night pain, pain when lifting and reaching overhead — for months. A quick MRI confirmed the diagnosis: a rotator cuff tear. The indication for surgery was clear. The shoulder arthroscopy was followed by repair of the tendon, then 6 weeks in a sling with accompanying, intensive physiotherapy.
Result: 12 weeks after surgery — full function, equal to the other side. A very happy patient.
